Is there anything we can do to increase our chances? How can you tell if you're infertile? My husband and I have been trying for a while to conceive and no luck...
You both need to have test run. Your hormone levels need to be checked to see if you are even ovulating. If you have Poly-cystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) you may have scar tissue from ruptured cyst. Your husband needs to have his sperm count tested and checked for motility.
I truly feel for you!!! My husband and I tried for 9 years. When it finally happend, I was 5 1/2 months along and didn't even know it! I suffer from PCOS, took Clomid and Medroxyprogesterone for 2 years with no luck. I still don't know how (well, I the ';how';....I mean how.....) it happend for sure. Just as you are about to give up(like we did) or decide to adopt (like many other couples I have talked to) it just happens!
Talk to your GYN. They can refer you to a specialist if none of the ';home remedies'; work for you.
Good Luck!!!How can you tell if you're infertile? My husband and I have been trying for a while to conceive and no luck...
Stop trying so hard, just relax and have fun and it will happen befor you know it. It may not be happening because your so stuck on it. That or it could be something a bit more serious which in that case you need to speak with your doctor possibly get some blood tests done to check hormone levels and so on. They say if you have been trying for more than a year with no luck to see an infertility specialist.
My husband and i tried for several years with no luck as well so i decided to see an infertility specialist who after 2 visits diagnosed me with PCOS(polycistic ovarian disease), i thought great now i'm never going to get pregnant. I did not have the typical signs of this disorder which was very strange, all i had was high estrogen as well as testosterone and extremely irregular periods, i mean i would go a year without one. I was put on birth control to help regulate my periods which did not really help much, so then my doctor tried metformin which also did nothing for me though i only gave it 3 months in most cases it can take up to several months to start seeing improvements. I gave up,i stopped trying and told myself if it happens it happens if not then i need to forget about it. well a couple months later i found out i was pregnant, i now have a 7 month old baby girl. Most woman who want children, have children it's just a matter of time. You need to be patient. lots of baby dust to you!
I agree with Vicky.
yes!!!!!! i was trying to have another baby for 5 years and comes to find out that my body is the oppisite of most woman. My doctor believe it or not put me on birth control pills along with prenatal vitamins. and said within 3 months i should be prego. but he gave me 6 months to get there (prego) and 3 months later i had to call him and tell him that i was pregnant. FINALLY!!!!!!! well I ended up moving after the baby was born and didnt want anymore kids at that time so my new doctor ended up putting me on birth control after i told her that i cant take it because i will get pregnant she didnt believe it...so i went on it and SURPRISE i had to call her back in 6 weeks and tell her i was pregnant. looking back and discussing this with her i realized I was on birth control when i conceived my 1st child........so try it.....it cant hurt you to try.
Yes, there are lots of things before you even have to step in a doctor's office. I'd go to http://www.fertilityfriend.com and sign up for their free tutorials. They'll send you e-mails for a few weeks, and teach you a tonne of stuff about fertility, when is best to BD, and how to spot the most fertile cervical mucus (which helps you to know when ovulation's about to happen -- sounds icky but it's not). Hope this is useful, and good luck!
I would give yourself at least a year of trying!Me and my husband got pregnant in March of 2006 and i had a tubal pregnancy which my doctor told me at least you know you can get pregnant now.Well a year and a half has went by and me and my husband still has not concived yet so i went to the doctor and he gave me something to have my period since i'm irregular and gave me Clomid to help me ovulate regluar!i will start my Clomid in April and i take it days 5-9 of my cycle!! So i hope things work out good for you and i wish u good luck with everything! So your problem could be as little as having irregular periods which causes you to ovulate irregular. So start keeping track!
