My husband was charged with domestic violence but not convicted he was found not guilty because he took a diversion program and the record is sealed. All that happened was we had a very loud argument and the neighbor (we lived in an apartment @ the time) called the police. I know that it is not public record but I didn't know if the would still see it because it is a background check. Any thoughts would be appriciated. Can i be certified to watch children through the county if my husband has a sealed domestic violence charge?
I guess it would really depend on whether or not you are planning to keep children in your home and if they would ever come in contact with your husband. It wouldn't show up on a regular employment background check on you but if they were to have someone do a background investigation then it would show up. Having said that, if you are planning on working at a daycare center I don't think you have anything to worry about. Can i be certified to watch children through the county if my husband has a sealed domestic violence charge?
An extensive background check would show this case of your husbands and hurt your chances of being a child care provider.
